Alright, let’s talk about this Cowboys mock draft I put together. It was a wild ride, I tell ya.

First off, I started by figuring out where the Cowboys would be picking. I saw that they were projected to have the 12th overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft. Not bad, but I thought maybe I could shake things up a bit. Also saw they had the 44th, third, fifth, and sixth-round picks.
I got to work checking out the current draft order. I know it’s early, but I saw that the Tennessee Titans were at No. 1, and the Seahawks were sitting at No. 18. The rest of the order was still up in the air, depending on how the playoffs went.
Then, I started thinking about what the Cowboys really need. I mean, I saw some folks talking about an edge rusher, a defensive tackle, and some help on the offensive line. But I had my own ideas. I saw some reports that said if the 2024 season ended after week 12, they’d actually have the 11th pick instead. This got me thinking about how to possibly take advantage of that.
So, I started digging into potential players. One guy that caught my eye was Ashton Jeanty, a running back from Boise State. I saw some folks saying he’s a top-10 overall player in the draft class. I thought, hey, maybe this is the guy to really shake things up!
Then I started dreaming up some trades. I thought, what if I could move up a couple of spots? Maybe from 15th to 13th? I saw that New Orleans might be looking for a running back, what with Alvin Kamara getting older and being in the last two years of his contract. So I played around with some scenarios where I could snag Jeanty before anyone else. Also I figured TreVeyon Henderson should be considered, because he’s supposed to be one of the top 5 RBs in the draft class, and from what I read could be a starter right away for almost any team.
I spent hours tinkering with different combinations, trying to figure out the best way to land Jeanty, maybe TreVeyon Henderson too, while also addressing some of the other needs on the team. I read a bunch of articles, watched some highlights, and even argued with myself about the best approach. It was a mess, but a fun mess.

Here’s what I ended up with:
-
Ashton Jeanty, RB, Boise State – Yeah, I went for it. I think this guy could be a game-changer for the Cowboys.
Round 1, Pick 13:
I didn’t stop there, though. I kept going, trying to fill out the rest of the draft with solid picks. The whole thing took me way longer than I expected, but I had a blast doing it. It’s always fun to play GM, even if it’s just in my head.
I didn’t get any sleep last night since I just had to figure this out. Let me know what you think of my moves and I’m probably going to make changes to this over time!
