This year, I gotta tell ya, I really need some new clothes for doing my exercises. That old stuff I got is just worn out, you know? And it ain’t cheap, getting these sports wear things. But you gotta have ’em if you wanna move around good and not feel all sticky and sweaty.
So, I been askin’ around, where’s the best place to get these sports wear? You know, the kind that don’t cost an arm and a leg. ‘Cause I ain’t made of money, you see. Some folks, they just tell ya, “Oh, just go to Walmart.”
Well, Walmart’s alright, I guess. They got a little bit of everything there. I got some of them stretchy pants, you know, leggings, from there before. They was called “Avia” or somethin’ like that. And they held up okay. Lasted me a good while, I reckon. But they got other stuff there too, if you need it. Shirts and such. All for movin’ around in.
Then there’s Target. That’s another one. They’re kinda like Walmart, I suppose, but maybe a little fancier. I don’t go there much, but I hear tell they got sports wear too. And then there’s that Old Navy place. I see their signs all the time. Never been in there myself, but I bet they got somethin’ you could wear to work out in.
Now, if you’re really serious about your sports, I guess you could try them places like Dicks or Hibbetts. They’re all about sports, those places. Probably got all kinds of fancy sports wear in there. But I bet it costs a pretty penny, too. You know how it is, the fancier the store, the fancier the prices. I don’t need nothin’ too fancy. Just somethin’ to keep me cool and dry, and able to move around easy.
I heard some folks talkin’ about buyin’ clothes online, but I don’t know about that. How you gonna know if it fits right? You can’t try it on. I don’t trust them things, these online things, not one bit. No sir. Just gonna take your money. I like to touch it, and feel it, and see if it’ll fit my body. Especially those tight leggings they sell nowadays.
They say these sports wear clothes got some special stuff in ’em. Like, they take the sweat away from your skin. Keep you from smellin’ so bad. I don’t know about all that. Sounds kinda like a bunch of hooey to me. But I guess it don’t hurt none, either.
Some of them clothes, they say they even protect you from the sun. Now that, I can understand. I don’t want to be gettin’ no sunburn while I’m out there walkin’. That sun can be fierce, especially in the summertime. So maybe that part’s worth it. Maybe. Still, you don’t want to be paying extra just for some fancy words and nothing to show for it. I always say you should keep some money in your pockets for when the hard times come.
I heard a lot of folks, like the ones who know about clothes and such, they do a lot of lookin’ around before they buy anythin’. They check all the stores, I reckon. Try to find the best deals. You have to look hard to find affordable workout clothes, I tell ya. It ain’t easy.

There’s another store, called Kohl’s. I think I got a shirt from there once, a long time ago. They probably got sports wear, too. And Macy’s, that’s a big one. I ain’t never been in there, but I see it on the TV. Looks real fancy. They must have everything under the sun in a place like that. Even those sports bras, they probably have ’em there. I saw those things on the TV, too. They look expensive.
If you’re going to buy those sports bras or those leggings, make sure to find some cheap ones. Don’t be spending all your money on something you’re just going to sweat in. They are for exercise, don’t forget that. You don’t want to be looking too fancy while doing your exercise, no sir. It’s not a fashion show. Also, it should feel good when you wear it. That’s what matters most. You want to be able to move around in it. Jump and run and all that.
What you need is some breathable clothes. Clothes that let the air through. That’s what they say. Clothes that keep the moisture away. All that fancy stuff. You don’t want to be all hot and sticky while you’re tryin’ to move around. No siree. You need good sports wear. Something that will last a good bit. Also, something that don’t cost too much money. That’s what everyone wants to know. Where do you get good sports wear for cheap? The answer is, you gotta look around. No easy answer to that. You have to keep your eyes open for those sales, that’s for sure.
I think those are all the things I know about sports wear. So, if you are looking to buy some, you better get out there and start lookin’. And don’t be spendin’ all your money on the first thing you see. You gotta be smart about these things. You work hard for your money, don’t you? So you gotta make it last. That’s what I always say. And I always will.
