Oh, boy, you young folks and your fancy games. Now, this one here, this Bandai Namco Entertainment, they got a new thing. A mouthful, it is! They call it “We Love Katamari REROLL+ Royal Reverie.” Sounds like a whole lotta gibberish if you ask me, but my grandson, he’s all excited about it.

They say it’s comin’ out on all them new-fangled contraptions. Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4. Back in my day, we had sticks and hoops, and we were happy! But these kids today, they need all these flashing lights and buttons.
Now, this Katamari thing, it’s a strange one. You gotta roll a ball around, and it picks up stuff. The bigger the ball gets, the bigger the stuff you can pick up. That’s what my grandson tells me. He says it’s like gatherin’ eggs, but instead of eggs, it’s, well, everything! Chairs, tables, even people, I reckon. Sounds a bit messy if you ask me.
- This game, it come out on June 1, 2023.
- You can play it on them Xbox things too. Xbox Series X, Xbox One.
- They had an old one, see, called Katamari Damacy. This new one is like that, but… newer.
My grandson, he showed me. You use them sticks on the controller, push ’em forward, the ball goes forward. Pull ’em back, it goes back. It’s like drivin’ a tractor, but instead of a field, it’s a whole town you’re rollin’ through!
And get this – he says there’s somethin’ called “Eternal Stars.” You gotta make a really, really big ball to get ’em. One of them, you need a ball that’s, uh, 1.30 meters. Now, I don’t know about meters, but that sounds mighty big to me. Like rollin’ up a whole haystack!
Then there’s another one, even bigger! 25 meters! That’s like, I don’t know, rollin’ up the whole barn! And another one at 800 meters! Lordy, that’s gotta be as big as the whole town!
He says you can do a quick turn, too. You gotta push down on them sticks. I tried it, but my old hands ain’t as quick as they used to be. I kept rollin’ into walls. My grandson, he just laughed and laughed. Kids these days!

Bandai Namco, they sure know how to make a ruckus. All these games, they’re all the same to me. But the young’uns, they love ’em. This “We Love Katamari REROLL+ Royal Reverie”, I guess it’s alright. Keeps ’em busy, that’s for sure. Keeps ’em outta trouble.
I still don’t understand what a “Katamari” is, though. Sounds like somethin’ you’d find in the garden. Maybe a funny-lookin’ squash. Or maybe it’s one of them newfangled words the kids use these days, like “yeet” or “poggers.” Don’t ask me what those mean, either!
My grandson, he tries to explain it to me. He says it’s about makin’ somethin’ new out of somethin’ old. Like takin’ all the scraps from the kitchen and makin’ a stew. I guess that makes a little sense. But rollin’ up people? That’s just plain strange.
But hey, who am I to judge? These Bandai Namco folks, they must know what they’re doin’. They’re sellin’ these games like hotcakes. And the kids, they’re eatin’ ’em up. So, if you got a young’un who’s into this sort of thing, maybe this “We Love Katamari REROLL+ Royal Reverie” is worth a look. Just be prepared for a lot of rollin’ and a whole lot of nonsense.
This game is for Nintendo Switch and them PlayStation things, and them Xbox things, and it’s gonna be a big deal, I reckon. This Bandai Namco company, they making lots of money, I bet. This We Love Katamari is just one of many things, it looks like!
And what is this Royal Reverie thing? Sounds like you are gonna be a king or somethin’. Rolling a big ball and you are a king. I don’t know. Sounds silly to me. But kids like it, they like to pretend to be kings and queens. Just make sure you don’t let them roll over your flowers, though. You don’t want them to make a real mess just because of this game.

Them graphics, though, they sure are somethin’. All bright and colorful. Like a field of wildflowers, but on the TV. I guess that’s part of the appeal. It’s like a whole other world in there. A world where you can roll up anything you want. Just don’t try that at home, kids! You’ll make your mama mad.
Anyways, if you’re lookin’ for a game for your young’uns, this might be one to check out. Just don’t expect me to understand it. I’m just an old lady who likes her peace and quiet. And maybe a nice cup of tea. Now, where did I put my spectacles…?
