Okay, so, I wanted to do something fun and relaxing today, and I’m a big fan of basketball. I thought, “Why not combine the two?” So I decided to make a basketball coloring page. It sounded simple enough, but it was a little more involved than I initially thought.
First, I grabbed a piece of paper and a pencil. Then I started sketching. I drew a rough outline of a basketball hoop first, you know, the backboard, the rim, and the net. I tried to make it look realistic, but let’s just say my art skills are… well, they’re a work in progress. The hoop looked a bit wonky, but hey, it’s the effort that counts, right?
Next, I added a basketball. Drawing a perfect circle freehand is tough! Mine ended up looking more like an oval, but after a few tries, I got something that resembled a basketball. I added those curved lines on the ball to make it look more like the real deal.
- I sketched the hoop.
- I drew the basketball.
- I detailed the net.
Adding Some Details
After the basic shapes were down, I started adding some details. I drew the net hanging from the rim, trying to make it look like it was swaying a bit. I added some lines on the backboard to give it some texture, just some simple stuff to make it pop a little more.
Then came the fun part – coloring! I grabbed my colored pencils and started filling in the shapes. I used orange for the basketball, obviously, and a mix of grey and black for the hoop. I even added some shading to give it a bit of a 3D effect. It was pretty relaxing, just focusing on the colors and staying within the lines.
The Final Result
Honestly, it didn’t turn out exactly how I imagined. My hoop was still a bit lopsided, and my basketball was more oval than round. But you know what? It was fun. It was a nice way to spend an afternoon, just drawing and coloring. And it kind of reminded me of being a kid again, just enjoying the simple things. Plus, I got to celebrate one of my favorite sports, basketball. It was a win-win!
I stuck the finished product on my fridge. It’s not a masterpiece, but it makes me smile every time I see it. And that’s all that matters, right? It’s not about being perfect; it’s about having fun and enjoying the process. I might try this again sometime, maybe I’ll even look up some tutorials online to improve my drawing skills. But for now, I’m happy with my little basketball coloring page.
