Okay, folks, let’s dive into my little backyard adventure – setting up a pool volleyball and basketball combo!

It all started with a simple idea. I wanted more fun in my pool. Just swimming gets boring, you know? So, I thought, “Why not add some games?” Volleyball and basketball seemed like the perfect fit.
First, I grabbed a combo set I found. It came with a net that stretches across the pool and a basketball hoop that attaches to the side. Sounded easy enough, right?
Setting up the Volleyball Net
-
I unpacked the net and the poles. The poles were adjustable, which was good because my pool isn’t huge.
-
Then I filled these little plastic bases with water. They’re supposed to keep the poles steady. I placed them on opposite sides of the pool.
-
Next, I stuck the poles into the bases. Easy peasy.
-
The net had these straps, and I just clipped them onto the poles. I had to adjust the tension a bit to make it nice and tight.
Now for the Basketball hoop installation.
The Basketball Hoop
-
This part was even simpler. The hoop had a bracket that hooked right onto the side of the pool.
-
I just lined it up and snapped it into place. There were a couple of screws to tighten, just to make sure it was secure.
The set came with an inflatable volleyball and basketball. After a little work to inflate the balls, it was game time!.
Honestly, the whole thing took me maybe 30 minutes. It wasn’t rocket science. And let me tell you, it was worth it! We played for hours. My kids and I had a blast. It’s way more fun than just swimming around.

My biggest tip? Make sure you get a set that fits your pool size. And don’t overthink it. It’s all about having fun in the water!
