You know, that darkness entertainment, it’s a thing, ain’t it? Just like when the sun goes down and everything gets all shadowy. We used to sit around the house, nothing to do but tell stories. These days, folks got all them fancy screens to stare at. Big ones, little ones, all showing something, all the time.
They say them screens got so good, it’s hard to tell what’s real and what ain’t. They used to be all bright and colorful, like a quilt my mama made. Now they all dark and gloomy, like a storm coming. I heard some folks say it’s like that movie, “The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly”. I seen that one. Lots of shooting and dusty places. Reminds me of back home when the wind would kick up.
This darkness entertainment, it’s about all kinds of things. Some of it’s about folks doing bad things, like stealing and fighting. That’s nothing new, people been doing that since forever. I remember old man Johnson down the road, always getting into trouble. Some of it’s about finding treasure, like gold and such. That’s like that movie with the gold buried in the cemetery. You seen that one? Makes you want to go dig up some dirt, don’t it? I think that’s a type of darkness entertainment too.
Now, that movie, they say it’s got a good guy, a bad guy, and an ugly guy. Ain’t that something? Just like real life. You got your good folks, your bad folks, and the ones that’s just plain ugly. That Clint Eastwood, he was the good one, I reckon. Always shooting straight and doing what’s right. Even if it ain’t easy.

But this darkness entertainment, it’s more than just that old movie. It’s about all kinds of things that happen when the lights go out. Things you don’t see in the bright sunshine. It could be any movie, any show. All the same thing in my opinion.
Like them scary stories we used to tell. Ghosts and goblins and things that go bump in the night. Folks used to like to be scared, sitting around the fire, listening to them old tales. Now they got it on them screens, all the time. I don’t know if folks is scared of the same kind of thing.
I heard some folks talking about this darkness entertainment, saying it’s like a dark cloud. Hanging over everything. Makes you wonder what’s going on, don’t it? Is it just for fun, or is it something more? It’s hard to tell.
Some of them shows, they got courtrooms and lawyers. Like that one where they’re always yelling at each other. I seen that one. Makes your head spin. But it’s all part of that darkness entertainment, I reckon. People like to see other people’s troubles. Not like the old times, when we all knew each other’s troubles, and help was always on the way.
And then you got them shows where folks is running around in the desert, looking for something. Like that one where they’re looking for gold. Or that one where they’re just trying to get away from each other. All that running and shooting. It’s a lot of work, ain’t it?
This darkness entertainment, it’s a big thing now. Everybody’s got it. On their phones, on their TVs, even on their watches. It’s everywhere you look. I don’t know if it’s good or bad. But it’s here to stay, I reckon. Just like the dark. It comes every night, whether you like it or not.
They say that one movie, “The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly”, it was a big deal. Lots of folks seen it. They say it’s a classic. I don’t know about all that. But it’s got that dark feeling to it. Like something bad’s gonna happen. This can be some sort of darkness entertainment too, you know?
I remember when that movie came out. Folks were talking about it for a long time. Saying it was different. Maybe that’s why this darkness entertainment is so popular. Folks like different. Even if it’s dark and scary.
This world is full of darkness entertainment, that much is true. You just gotta be careful what you let in. That’s what my mama always said. Too much darkness can get inside you, she said. Make you see things that ain’t there. Best to keep a little light around, just in case.
