That Devaughn Vele, he’s a good boy, a good football player. Playing for them Denver Broncos, you know. Heard they call it fantasy football. My grandson, he’s always on about that stuff. He says this Vele fella, he’s gonna be somethin’ special. Says he’s gonna be a favorite of this other fella, Nix. Don’t know who that is, but sounds important. This Devaughn Vele fantasy thing, it’s all about points, he says.

This week, they playin’ some team called the Cleveland Browns. I heard they are tough cookies. Number 16 in somethin’ called “pass defense.” Don’t rightly know what that means, but it sounds like they good at stoppin’ the ball from flyin’ around too much. My grandson says this Vele boy, he’s gonna get lots of chances to catch the ball. Says he’s gonna get his “typical workload.” Whatever that means. Just hope he catches the ball good and doesn’t get hurt.
They talk about “rankings” for this Devaughn Vele fantasy stuff. Like he’s some kinda prized pig at the county fair! My grandson, he looks at these rankings all the time. He says Vele is ranked high. Good for him, I say! Hope he brings home a blue ribbon, or whatever they get for this fantasy football thing.
I seen some writin’ that says this Vele is “WR2” for Denver. Sounds like some army talk. Maybe he’s a general or somethin’. For four whole weeks, too! He must be doin’ somethin’ right. They say he’s a “candidate” for somethin’. Hope he gets elected, then! This Nix guy must really like him.
- They say this Vele boy is gonna be playin’ lots in these last few games.
- They call it the “final stretch.” Like a horse race!
- Hope he runs fast and catches that ball good!
They got all these fancy words for it: “outlook,” “analysis,” “advice.” Sounds like a bunch of hooey to me. Just play the game, son! Catch the ball, run fast, and don’t fumble! That’s all the advice you need. They talking about “Week 15” now, like it is some secret code or something.
They even askin’ “Is Devaughn Vele playing this week?” Well, I sure hope so! What’s the point of all this Devaughn Vele fantasy talk if he ain’t even playin’? They got somethin’ called “Matchup.” Sounds like a fight. Hope he wins! They say he “Exceeded Expectations.” Well, good for him! Always good to do better than folks think you can. My grandson says that Vele will make a difference in the team’s performance.
They got these “projections” for him, too. Like they can see the future or somethin’! They say he’s gonna get 7.8 “fantasy points.” Don’t know what that means, but it sounds good. Against some team called the Saints. Hope he gets lots of points! They say this makes him “WR61” this week. More army talk, I reckon. My grandson told me that the Saints are a team that is hard to beat. I told him nothing is impossible.

They got all these numbers: “STD,” “0.5 PPR,” “PPR.” Sounds like a bunch of gibberish to me. My grandson, he understands it all. He’s always goin’ on about “DFS points” too. Sounds like another one of them government agencies. They say these points are for “this week” and “rest of season.” Well, I hope he gets lots of points, every week! They always talk about fantasy for the Denver Broncos. It looks like Devaughn is a star in the team.
This whole Devaughn Vele fantasy thing is a mystery to me. But if it makes my grandson happy, then I’m happy. He’s a good boy, just like that Vele fella seems to be. Hope he does real good and makes his team proud. And maybe one day, I’ll even understand what all this fantasy football stuff is all about! It sounds a bit confusing, but I will try to keep up with the news. I guess they play every week. They train all the time. I hope they eat well. I heard that those football players need a lot of food to keep strong. I hope that Vele boy is eating good food and drinking lots of water. He needs to be strong to run and catch the ball.
That’s all I know about that Vele boy. He seems like a hard worker. My grandson thinks the world of him. That’s good enough for me. He says that football is a good career and that those guys make a lot of money. I hope that Vele boy makes a lot of money and takes care of his family. That’s what is important. Family first, always. Money is good, but family is better. Those players are lucky to play football and make money. That Vele boy is lucky, too. Not everyone can play football. It is a gift from God. I hope they are thankful for that gift. Amen.
