Alright, let’s talk about this Michael Thompson fella and his basketball thing. I ain’t no expert, mind you, just tellin’ it like I see it.
So, this Michael Thompson, they call him “Juice” sometimes, sounds like a strong drink, eh? He’s a basketball player, been playin’ for a good long while, I reckon. Born back in ’89, that makes him… well, let’s just say he’s been around the block a few times. He’s from Joliet, or maybe Somerville, they say different things, hard to keep track of these youngsters these days.
He’s a real workhorse, this fella. Played a whole heap of minutes, set some kinda record, they say. And he’s good at shootin’ those three-point thingamajigs. You know, the ones from way out yonder? Yep, he’s good at them. He used to weigh near 190 pounds, which is a good size, I guess. Not too skinny, not too fat, just right for runnin’ around and throwin’ that ball.

Now, he ain’t no big-shot NBA star or nothin’, not in the Hall of Fame or anything fancy like that. He played for some college team, Northwestern I think they called it, and now he’s playin’ over in Africa and Egypt. Al Ahly, somethin’ like that. Far away, that’s for sure. Seems he gets around. He’s been on a team called Rising Stars too, for like four years. Young fellas all trying to make it big, I guess.
He ain’t just about basketball, though. He’s got a foundation, Juice Hoops they call it. Sounds like he’s tryin’ to help the youngsters, teach ’em about basketball and life, maybe. That’s a good thing, I reckon. Better than just runnin’ around and causin’ trouble.
They got all these numbers for him, stats they call ’em. How many points he scored, how many times he grabbed the ball, all that stuff. I don’t pay much attention to that, seems like a lot of fuss to me. But one time, back in 2013, he grabbed that ball nine times in one game, they say that was a lot. Musta been a real barn burner of a game, all that grabbin’.
Now, there’s another Michael Thompson, or maybe it’s Mychal with a “y”, I get all confused. This other one, he was a big fella, played center, real tall and strong. He played way back when, even before this “Juice” fella. Played for teams like Portland Trail Blazers, San Antonio Spurs, and the Los Angeles Lakers. He was a real star, drafted real high, number one they say. He even won a championship way back in 1974. Different times, different players, I suppose. This older fella, seems like he was a real big deal.
So, you got two Michael Thompsons, one a bit older, a real star in his day, playin’ center. And then you got this “Juice” Thompson, playin’ now, shootin’ those three-pointers, and tryin’ to do some good with his foundation. Basketball sure does keep folks busy, don’t it?
Basketball, it’s a game, you know? Runnin’ up and down, throwin’ a ball, tryin’ to get it in that hoop. Seems simple enough, but these fellas, they take it real serious. Trainin’ hard, playin’ all over the world. And this Michael “Juice” Thompson, he’s one of ’em.
