Well, let me tell you, I heard some folks talking ’bout this Hawks vs Clippers thing. Sounds like a real hootenanny! They’re sayin’ it’s a game, but I ain’t never seen no hawks and clippers fightin’ each other before. Maybe they’re talkin’ ’bout them basketball fellas. I seen them on the TV once, jumpin’ around like a bunch of jackrabbits.
Now, I heard one fella say somethin’ ’bout a prediction. Now that’s a fancy word for guessin’, ain’t it? He was sayin’ the Clippers, whoever they are, got a better chance of winnin’. Somethin’ ’bout 59 percent, like they got some fancy machine tellin’ ’em the future. I reckon they’re puttin’ their money where their mouth is. Clippers gonna win, huh? We’ll see about that.
They got all these numbers, 24 percent for the Hawks, 76 percent for the Clippers. Back in my day, we didn’t need no numbers to tell us who was gonna win a fight. You just looked at the size of ’em and how mean they looked! But these young’uns today, they rely on these numbers for everythin’. I reckon it takes the fun out of it. Makes me wonder if the fellas playin’ even know how much these percentages are.

And these Hawks, they ain’t no slouches either. They got that young fella, Trae Young. Heard he’s a real firecracker, that one. Always movin’, always shootin’. He’s a little fella, but he’s got a lot of heart. I seen him play once on that TV, he never gives up. And then there is that Dejounte Murray, he is pretty good too. If those two play well, they might have a good game.
This game, it’s gonna be in Atlanta. That’s where the Hawks live, I reckon. They call it the State Farm Arena. Sounds like a place where they’d keep the cows, not play basketball! I guess times are changin’. Back in my day, we played outside, rain or shine. Didn’t need no fancy arena. The Hawks are from Atlanta, yeah. That’s what I heard. They are playin’ at home, so maybe they play harder, you know?
These Clippers, they’re from Los Angeles. That’s way out west, near Hollywood. Lots of movie stars out there. Maybe these Clippers players are movie stars too! They’re travelin’ all the way to Atlanta, just for this game. Must be important. If the Clippers can travel so far and still play good, maybe they are as good as those people say. Those Los Angeles fellas better be ready for a fight.
I heard these Clippers been winnin’ a lot lately. Three games in a row, they say. That’s mighty impressive. They must be doin’ somethin’ right. Maybe they got a good coach, or maybe they just got lucky. But three in a row, that ain’t no accident. The Clippers seem to be good at playin’ away from home. I guess that is why they are favored to win.
These Hawks, they’ve been holdin’ their own too. Not as good as the Clippers, but they ain’t no pushovers. They won a few games recently. I think I heard somethin’ ’bout them beatin’ some team from up north. They got a chance, I reckon. Just gotta play hard and maybe get a little lucky. The Hawks are pretty good too, they won some games. If they play together, they can beat anyone, I think.
Now, this whole Hawks vs Clippers prediction thing, it’s got everyone all riled up. Folks are bettin’ money, talkin’ ’bout who’s gonna win, who’s gonna lose. It’s like a big ol’ party, just waitin’ for the game to start. I don’t know who’s gonna win. I’m just an old lady, what do I know about basketball? But I’ll tell you one thing, it’s gonna be a good game. These Hawks and Clippers, they’re both good teams. They both want to win. And they’re both gonna fight for it. It’s gonna be a real barn burner, I reckon. Just gotta wait and see.
I do not know who will win. Maybe Clippers, maybe Hawks. But it will be a good game. I think I will watch it on TV. Hope the Hawks can win, they are the underdogs, you know. But if the Clippers win, I will not be sad. It is just a game, right?
