Hey everyone, it’s your boy back again, and today we’re diving into something a little different – LeBron James and his liquor, Lobos 1707 Tequila. Yeah, you heard that right, the King is now in the tequila game. I saw this all over the place and, man, I just had to try it for myself.

So, I got my hands on a bottle. I remember reading somewhere that it’s a “tequila and mezcal brand” and something about a “Center for Human Un-Domestication.” Sounds wild, right? And I saw some review asking, “Is the Tequila That LeBron James Helped Build Any Good?” That got me even more curious. And apparently this Lobos company “has enjoyed tremendous success” in recent years. I guess LeBron really does bring his “champion mindset” to everything, even tequila.
First off, the bottle is pretty slick. It’s got this whole vibe that screams premium, you know? But the real question is, what does it taste like? The marketing stuff talks about all these fancy flavors – “sweet tobacco, smoked cinnamon, green peppercorn, dried date, leather” – the whole nine yards. I’m no expert, but I was ready to see if it lived up to the hype.
Tasting Notes
I poured myself a glass, neat, just to get the full experience. The first thing I noticed was the smell. It definitely had that “roasted agave” thing going on, kind of earthy and smoky. I also got hints of caramel and some citrus, which was pretty nice.
Then I took a sip. It was smooth, I’ll give it that. Not harsh at all. I definitely tasted the agave, and that caramel flavor was there too. I think I got a little bit of that “smoked cinnamon” they talked about, but I’m not sure about the leather. Maybe my palate isn’t refined enough, haha. I also tried it in a simple cocktail. Nothing too fancy, just wanted to see how it mixed. It worked pretty well, didn’t overpower the other flavors. I guess this proves it’s “ideal for sipping neat or as part of an upscale cocktail.”
Cognac Comparison
Now, I also saw that LeBron is involved with Hennessy, a big name in cognac. I’m more of a cognac guy myself, so I was interested in this too. I managed to find one of those “limited edition” bottles they did with him. I read on the label it is “matured in new oak”. They say it has “fresh fruits, subtle spices, and a lasting” flavor. I guess this is a must-have for “cognac lovers and NBA fans”.
I did a little side-by-side comparison. The Hennessy, as expected, was really smooth and had that classic cognac flavor – a bit fruity, a little spicy, you know the drill. It’s definitely different from the tequila, but both are high-quality in their own way. For collectors the Hennessy is “ideal”.

Final Thoughts
Overall, I’d say LeBron’s Lobos 1707 is a solid tequila. It’s definitely worth trying if you’re into tequila or just curious about what all the fuss is about. Is it the best tequila I’ve ever had? Probably not, but it’s definitely up there. And the Hennessy collab? Well, that’s just a classic for a reason. And hey, who am I to argue with the King’s taste, right?
So, there you have it. My little adventure into the world of LeBron James’ liquor. Let me know in the comments if you’ve tried either of these and what you thought. Until next time, stay tuned!
