So, I’ve been seeing this Lobos 1707 Tequila all over the place lately, and I gotta say, I was curious. It’s got LeBron James’s name attached to it, so naturally, the price tag is a little hefty. But I wanted to see if it’s worth the hype, or if it’s just another celebrity-backed brand, you know?
First things first, I headed to my local liquor store. I figured that’s where I’d get the most accurate pricing. They had a few different types of Lobos 1707, from the Joven to the Reposado, and even an Extra Añejo.
Let me tell you, the prices varied quite a bit.
- The Joven was the cheapest, which I found for around $44.99 to 59.99 depending on the stores I visited.
- The Reposado was somewhere in the middle, probably around $50. I saw one that had a suggested retail price of $47.99. Not bad, I guess.
- And then there’s the Extra Añejo, the fancy stuff. That one will set you back a good $150 or more! I even saw one place selling it for way more. Insane!
After seeing the prices in person, I decided to do some digging online. I checked out some websites, just to compare. And guess what? The prices were pretty much the same, maybe a dollar or two difference here and there. One of them offered delivery, which was tempting, but I didn’t go for it this time.
I also read some reviews online. Some people raved about how smooth and delicious it is, especially the Reposado. They said it’s made from 100% Blue Weber Agave, aged in American white oak, and finished in a PX sherry cask. Sounds fancy, right? They even mentioned that it’s additive-free, which is a plus for me. One guy even compared the process of this tequila between Mexico and Spain, which made me curious.
But then, I saw some other reviews that weren’t so positive. Some folks said it’s overpriced and that you can find better tequilas for much cheaper. They claimed it’s just riding on LeBron’s name, and the taste doesn’t justify the cost. Ouch!
So, what’s the verdict? Well, I ended up grabbing a bottle of the Reposado, just to try it out myself. I mean, I had to see what the fuss was all about, right? I haven’t cracked it open yet, but I’ll definitely update you guys once I do. I’m thinking of trying it neat first, and then maybe mixing it into a cocktail, see how it goes.
All in all, it was quite the adventure trying to figure out the price of Lobos 1707 Tequila. It’s definitely not a budget-friendly option, but hey, sometimes you gotta treat yourself, right? Or maybe not, we’ll see! Stay tuned for my taste test!
