Well, let me tell ya ’bout this here arcade volleyball game. It ain’t like that fancy stuff you see on TV with them tall folks jumpin’ around. This here’s the kind you play down at the arcade, you know, the place with all the blinkin’ lights and loud noises.

Now, I ain’t no expert, but I seen folks playin’ this game. It’s got this net in the middle, just like real volleyball, I reckon. And ya gotta hit this here ball over the net, tryin’ to make it land on the other side. Seems simple enough, but them young’uns, they get real worked up about it.
They got these little fellers on the screen, movin’ around real fast. You gotta use the buttons to make ’em jump and hit the ball. And it ain’t just hittin’ it any which way, ya gotta aim it right, or the other feller will get it. It’s all about timing and smackin’ that ball hard.
- First, you gotta pick your player, I guess. Some are fast, some are strong, just like in real life, I suppose.
- Then, you gotta move ’em around, get ’em in the right spot to hit the ball.
- And then, BAM! You gotta smack that ball over the net.
This ain’t no real volleyball, mind you. It’s faster, way faster. And them little fellers on the screen, they can do all sorts of crazy things. Jumpin’ real high, divin’ all over the place. It’s kinda like watching them acrobats at the circus, but with a volleyball.
My grandson, he’s real good at this game. He spends all his allowance down at the arcade, playin’ this and them other games. He says it’s all about the “strategy”, whatever that means. He talks about “spiking” and “blocking” and all them fancy words. I just tell him to hit the ball hard and try not to let it drop on our side, that’s the only strategy I know.
I remember when volleyball was just somethin’ folks played at the picnic. Just a bunch of us, hittin’ the ball back and forth, laughin’ and havin’ a good time. Now they got these fancy games, makin’ it all complicated. But hey, if them young’uns like it, who am I to complain? It keeps ’em outta trouble, I guess. And it’s better than them shootin’ games, that’s for sure.
This arcade volleyball, it’s different from that real volleyball, you know, the one with them six fellers on each side. This here’s usually one-on-one, or maybe two-on-two. And it’s all about quick reflexes. No time to be thinkin’ too hard. Just gotta react and hit that ball. The graphics are pretty good too, I gotta say. Them little fellers look almost real, and the ball bounces just like it should. They even got sounds, you know, the thump when the ball hits the ground, the cheer when you score a point. It’s all very… lively, I guess that’s the word.

Some of these games, they got power-ups. Like, you can make your feller jump higher, or hit the ball harder. Or you can even put up a shield to block the other guy’s shot. My grandson, he loves them power-ups. He says they’re the key to winnin’. I don’t know about that, seems like cheatin’ to me, but then again, I ain’t the one playin’ the game. I’m just watchin’. And sometimes, I’m shakin’ my head and wonderin’ what this world’s comin’ to. But mostly, I’m just happy to see them young’uns havin’ fun.
The best arcade volleyball games are the ones that are easy to learn but hard to master. You should be able to pick it up and play it right away, but it should also have enough depth to keep you coming back for more. And of course, it should be fun! That’s the most important thing, ain’t it? If it ain’t fun, then what’s the point?
So, if you ever find yourself down at the arcade, with nothin’ to do, give this here arcade volleyball game a try. It might just surprise you. It might even make you feel like a kid again, jumpin’ and shoutin’ and smacking that ball with all your might. And that, my friends, ain’t a bad thing at all.
Now, they’re even makin’ these games you can play on your computin’ machine or on your phone. My grandson showed me the other day. It was the same kinda game, but on a smaller screen. He says you can even play against other folks from all over the world. Can you believe that? Folks playin’ volleyball from different countries, all at the same time. It’s a crazy world, I tell ya. But as long as them young’uns are havin’ fun, I guess I can’t complain. Just gotta make sure they don’t spend all their money on them games, right?
Anyway, that’s about all I know about this here arcade volleyball game. It ain’t much, I know. But I hope it made some kinda sense. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go make some supper. Them young’uns will be home soon, and they’ll be hungry. And you know what they say, a hungry belly ain’t got no time for games, arcade or otherwise.
