Today, I decided to find a basketball court near me, so I can shoot some hoops. The weather is nice, and I feel like getting some exercise outdoors.

Finding a Court
First, I grabbed my phone and opened up the Maps app. I typed in “basketball courts near me” in the search bar. A bunch of red pins popped up on the map, showing me the closest options. I recognized a few parks that I’ve been to before, but there were also some new places I hadn’t seen.
I tapped on a couple of the pins to check them out. The app showed me some pictures, user reviews, and even the operating hours. Some courts were in public parks, while others were at schools or recreation centers. After looking through a few options, I decided to go to Spotts Park, it is not too far from my place and has good reviews.
Heading to the Park
I put on my basketball shoes, grabbed my basketball, and headed out the door. The park was just a short drive away. When I got there, I parked my car and walked towards the courts. There were a couple of courts, and luckily, one of them was empty. Perfect timing!
Playing Time
I started by warming up with some easy shots close to the basket. I focused on getting my form right, making sure my feet were positioned correctly and my follow-through was smooth. As I got more comfortable, I moved further away, practicing my mid-range jumpers and three-pointers. I always like shooting from directly in front of the basket or from the wings at 45-degree angles, as those spots seem to give me the best chance of making a basket.
The court was in decent shape. I noticed that it was about 90 feet long and 50 feet wide, which is the standard size, I guess. The lane lines were clearly marked. There were also lane space markings, although I didn’t need them since I was playing solo.
After a while, a few other people showed up and asked if they could join. Of course, I said yes! We played a few friendly games of 2-on-2. It was fun playing with others and getting some good competition.

Wrapping Up
After about two hours, I was pretty tired. I made sure to cool down with some light stretching to prevent any soreness later. I gathered my things, said goodbye to the other players, and headed back home.
- Warm-up: Started with easy shots near the basket.
- Practice: Worked on mid-range and three-point shots.
- Gameplay: Played 2-on-2 with others who joined.
- Cool-down: Stretched to prevent soreness.
Overall, it was a great day playing basketball. Finding a court was easy, and the park was a good spot to play. I’ll definitely be back again soon!
