Okay, so, I’ve been getting into this whole “multisport” thing lately. It’s basically a bunch of different endurance sports all mashed together into one race. Sounds crazy, right? But it’s been a blast!

I’ve always been into outdoor stuff. Kayaking, biking, hitting the slopes on my snowboard, even a bit of climbing—you name it. So, when I heard about multisport, I figured, why not give it a shot? I mean I already do most of these things on their own, so why not combine them?
- First, I started looking into different kinds of multisport races. I had heard about triathlons and the people I know who do it. They have to swim, bike, and run, all in one go. That’s pretty intense.
- Then I found out there are other types too, like duathlons (running and biking), aquabikes (swimming and biking), and aquathlons (swimming and running). There are a lot of choices and I had to choose.
- I tried to figure out how to track all these different activities. I read some folks online debating on what to use for tracking progress. Turns out my old sports watch can do it! It has this “multi-sport” mode that lets you switch between different activities during a workout. Pretty neat, huh?
- I practiced and trained in each sport individually. I’m already pretty good at biking and running, but the swimming part was a bit of a challenge, haha. I spent a lot of time at the pool, trying not to look like a drowning cat.
Finally, I signed up for my first race. It was a local sprint triathlon, so not too crazy long. I figured it was a good way to dip my toes in the water, so to speak.
Race day came, and man, was I nervous! But once I got going, it was awesome. The transitions between sports were a bit tricky at first, but I got the hang of it. I ended up doing better than I expected, and it felt amazing to cross that finish line!
So yeah, that’s my multisport journey so far. It’s been a wild ride, but I’m hooked. I’m already looking for my next race. Maybe I’ll try a longer distance, or even a different type of multisport event. Who knows? The possibilities are endless!
