Okay, here is my sharing about the “sport racer”:

I got this idea to try out some sport racing stuff. I wasn’t sure where to start, so I did what everyone does – I looked it up online. Found some info about checking out the top 10 fastest times and where you should be compared to them. Like, if you’re aiming for A+, you gotta be within 1 to 1.5 seconds of those top times. For an A, it’s about 2.5 seconds. It goes down like that, B is 3.5 seconds off, C is 4.5, and so on.
So, I picked a track, did some laps, and timed myself. Let me tell you, it was way harder than it looks! My first few runs were, well, let’s just say they weren’t great. I was seconds off where I wanted to be, more like a D or even worse, haha. But I didn’t give up.
I watched some videos of pros racing, trying to see what they were doing that I wasn’t. I started focusing on my lines through the corners, braking later, and trying to be smoother with the steering. It was tough, and honestly, I messed up a lot. Spun out a few times, went off track, the whole deal.
- Practice, practice, practice: I just kept doing laps, trying to get a little better each time.
- Watch and learn: I spent hours watching videos of skilled racers, trying to copy their moves.
- Small steps: I focused on one thing at a time, like braking points or cornering lines, instead of trying to fix everything at once.
- Didn’t give up: Even when I felt like I was getting nowhere, I kept at it.
Here’s how I tried to get better:
Slowly but surely, I started to see some improvement. My times were getting a little better, and I felt more in control of the car. I still wasn’t anywhere near those top times, but I was definitely getting closer.
This whole thing taught me that getting good at sport racing takes a ton of time and effort. It’s not something you can just pick up overnight. You gotta be patient, willing to learn, and okay with making mistakes. And honestly the most important thing is to enjoy this sport.
I’m still working on it, still trying to get better. Maybe one day I’ll actually be fast, who knows? But even if I never make it to the top, I’m having a blast trying.
