Hey folks, so, let me tell you about this little project I messed around with the other day, “surreal entertainment wednesday buttons”. Yeah, that’s the name. Sounds kinda weird, right? But trust me, it was a pretty interesting ride. First, I watched a bunch of videos from this “surreal entertainment” YouTube channel. I guess they’re known for making these, like, really bad 3D animations of popular memes. It’s pretty wild stuff.
So, I started digging around to see what tools this “surreal entertainment” guy uses. Found out that it’s this thing called Blender, a free program. I’m not an animator, but I know my way around some basic software, so I figured, why not? Downloaded Blender and started playing around with it. It was honestly kind of a mess at first.
Then I had this idea to create these “Wednesday buttons.” I don’t even know where it came from, honestly, maybe that Wednesday Addams show? But anyway, I found some information online about making buttons, and it seemed pretty simple. I wanted to use the “surreal entertainment” style for these buttons, just to see if I could pull it off.
I spent a good chunk of time watching those surreal entertainment videos, trying to get a feel for their style. I created some simple shapes in Blender, trying to make them look as wonky as the stuff on that channel. It was a lot of trial and error, moving things around, stretching them out, and generally just making things look as weird as possible. I even tried animating them a little, just some basic movements to make the buttons look like they were alive. I ended up making a few different button designs, all inspired by that weird “surreal entertainment” aesthetic.
- Watched “surreal entertainment” videos
- Downloaded and learned Blender
- Researched button design
- Created wonky shapes in Blender
- Added basic animation
- Designed multiple buttons
After I had my buttons, I wanted to find a way to show them off, to share them with people. I thought about using my social media, but it’s not really set up for this kind of thing. Then I remembered something about a “Public URL” where you can promote stuff, but I only found some examples for musicians. It mentioned things like entertainment type, tempo, genre, bio, and even YouTube videos. This didn’t really fit what I was doing, but it gave me some ideas.
The whole process was a bit of a learning curve. I mean, I didn’t even make any actual buttons to push! It was all digital and weird. I messed around with some colors and designs, just experimenting with the whole “surreal” vibe. Some of them turned out okay, some were just plain weird. But hey, that’s kind of the point, right?
The Result
In the end, I had a collection of these bizarre, animated Wednesday buttons. They weren’t perfect, but they were definitely unique. I learned a bit about animation, a bit about design, and a whole lot about the weird world of “surreal entertainment.” It was a fun little project, and who knows, maybe I’ll mess around with it some more in the future. Maybe I’ll even figure out how to make them into real, physical buttons someday. Now, wouldn’t that be something?
